The hot zones used in high-temperature furnaces for annealing, brazing, sintering (including MIM) and hardening consist of various components such as heating elements, heat shields and charge carriers. They can be completely metallic, or hybrid (using graphite felt or ceramic fibre insulation). PLANSEE hot zones are produced in molybdenum-, tungsten- and tantalum-based materials and are notable for their high performance, quality, reliability and service life.
PLANSEE offers a comprehensive service for replacing hot zones in existing furnaces. This includes initial consultation, assessment and measuring of the furnace, carrying out design improvements, manufacturing the hot zone and if required, installation and commissioning for customer approval.
Advantages:
Excellent vacuum conditions
No contamination with oxygen, moisture or carbon
Short cycle times
Rapid quenching with high gas pressures
Use of PLANSEE high-performance materials such as MLR and TZM
Hybrid designs (graphite or fibre insulation)
Energy-efficient construction (ENERZONE)
Long life times
