Lamp Electrodes made of Tungsten and Tungsten Alloys
Tungsten and tungsten alloy electrodes are used to produce the arc in high-intensity discharge lamps. Increasing environmental awareness is prompting lamp manufacturers to develop thorium-free lamps. PLANSEE therefore offers suitable alloys.
Advantages:
Fine-grain, grain stabilized microstructure over the entire service life of the lamp
Good ignition performance with high arc stability
Favourable machinability of ready-to-use electrodes
Forms of delivery:
Ready to use electrodes: cleaned, annealed, ready for installation or processing, in a labelled, heat-sealed, air-tight, polythene bag with desiccant
Semi-finished products: rods or wire on spools
WVM Wires as Prematerial for Lamp Electrodes: Doped and thoriated W wires as prematerial for lamp electrodes are available at diameters from 0.25 to 2 mm.
