PLANSEE Powertech AG is the global leader in the manufacture of contact systems in energy transmission and distribution. High voltage and medium voltage circuit breakers are also part of the product portfolio. The new company name should ease entry into additional Asian markets where the PLANSEE group is already known as the world-market leader in the field of refractory metals and composite materials.
Elektro-Metall was founded in 1960 by Kurt Gloor in Seon. In 1987 the company was integrated into the PLANSEE group and has continuously extended its manufacturing capacities ever since. Today the Swiss company has 120 employees and represents the PLANSEE group’s centre of excellence in the sector of electrical contact making materials based on comprehensive engineering and manufacturing know-how. PLANSEE Powertech cooperates closely with the worldwide leading power engineering companies and has been distinguished as the ‘best supplier’ by ABB since 1999.
