TiB2 sputtering targets for hard coating at the PSE conference
[06/09/2010]
TiB2 is the material of choice for advanced sputter coatings of tools used for high speed machining of aluminium alloys and a variety of other non-ferrous alloys. Due to its low affinity to aluminium this coating helps to eliminate the build-up on the cutting edges of the tool during operation which is a major cause of failure. PLANSEE offers a multiple-piece construction target, bonded on copper or molybdenum backing plates. Thanks to its fine grain size and advanced production processes, PLANSEE TiB2 targets have outstanding properties regarding density and fracture toughness.
Find out more about TiB2 and other innovative ceramic materials like WC, SiC, ZrB2 at the International Conference on Plasma Surface Engineering (PSE) which will take place in Garmisch Partenkirchen from September 13-17, 2010. Leading experts from the industry are going to present the latest information about fundamentals and applications of plasma and ion beam techniques in surface engineering.
Our PVD coating team is looking forward to meeting you in Garmisch Partenkirchen. Fur further information please contact Ms. Iris Heibel: iris.heibel@plansee.com
